Provence

Fields of lavender. Boundless chateaux.  Guaranteed sun.  Fresh chevre and Les Baux olive oil.  Limestone. Spicy wine.  Isle-sur-la-Sorgue antiques.  How can you not day dream about Provence?

The Mr. proposed in Provence almost two years ago, and I have been dreaming of the sun drenched fields of lavender and free flowing côtes du rhône ever since.  We were in the little town of Arles enjoying a cheese plate and a bottle of Chateauneuf-du-Pape when he got down on one knee (smart guy, I never say to no to anything when cheese is involved).  Now, here we are almost two years later wrapping up this incredible adventure.

To end this journey, we are returning to the beginning and taking one last road-trip through Provence.  This is what the trip looks like in my mind.

We drive through these fields on our way, here

where we will spend our evenings dining, here

and our days doing this

and this

before stopping for lunch, here

followed by an afternoon dip, here

Does anyone else day dream this extensively ?

If you love Provence as much as I do, I recommend reading Peter Mayle's, A Year in Provence.  A very witty book about French culture, and especially Provence.  Très drôle.

Bon Mecredi!
